We enter the final six games of the season still in charge of our own destiny. Had we been offered that at the start of the season, I am sure every supporter would have said yes please. Although performances and goals scored may have slipped of late, the fact is we are still up there and can win the league with 6 wins. Our last two fixtures are against the two already relegated teams, so it really comes down to the next four matches. We start this final run of fixtures with a visit of Colne.
Reds are 2nd with 73 points from 32 games Colne are 15th with 38 points from 33 games
Reds at home 11-3-2 Colne away 6-3-8
Recent Colne results: 26 Mar Colne 0-1 Leek 22 Mar City of Liverpool 0-0 Colne 19 Mar Colne 1-0 Rams 12 Mar Market Drayton 0-5 Colne 8 Mar Colne 2-0 Widnes 5 Mar Colne 0-2 Prescot 26 Feb Colne 0-1 Newcastle Town 12 Feb Leek 2-0 Colne 8 Feb Rylands 6-0 Colne
Reds overall since 1 Feb 3-2-1 Colne overall since 1 Feb 3-1-5
The four away games above would suggest Colne struggle when travelling to the top teams. They have won 3 of their previous 5 fixtures though.
Current top of the league using played and points & GD Rylands 34 77 +54 Reds 32 73 +38 Marine 33 72 +26 Leek 33 69 +32
Other significant fixtures today: Rylands (1st) v Runcorn - Runcorn away record 10-1-5 Marine (3rd) v Widnes - Widnes away record 5-1-10 Leek (4th) v Bootle - Bootle away record 8-1-7
Let's hope we can rediscover our old form which saw us win 9 games on the bounce. Anything less than a win today will likely see our chances of winning the league diminish. Will there be a crowd of 1000+ again? Come on you Reds.

After the last 2 performances at home i'd be surprised if we got 1k crowd. Weather isnt looking too warm either
Clinging to the hope that Runcorn might get something at Warrington. But in Truth none of that matters, this is the biggest game of the season for us now. We must win. Would like to see Nico get a start and praying Hubbold is fit.

The club has done brilliant to get above the 1000 mark this year, only 3 guaranteed home games left so again if all regulars can cajole the floating supporters down I'm sure we can achieve that attendance again ,this weekend is where we will put in the big performance hopefully

Come on Reds - spare us the tension of the play-offs and give us six straight wins. Easy to say, not so easy to achieve. But I'm reminded of that old football saying - form is temporary, class is permanent. Reds can prove it - starting tomorrow. And despite recent performances, I hope there's a decent crowd there to give them the support they deserve. Even for this ex-West Cumbrian, tomorrow and next week are games not to be missed.

Well we were well stuffed until the (totally deserved) sending off. Then we were very comfortable but struggled for clear cut chances. Still we won. Win the next two and we will be promoted as champions. A draw and a loss will see us in the playoffs. A big week this one and I'm going to go to both matches. I just hope we can get some form back as we are due to give someone a right good beating.

Another uninspiring performance but 3 points in the bag, plenty of effort but hardly any chances created, looks like we will have to grind our way to the finishing line. Marine also seem to be having exactly the same problems and I would guess it's now only us that can stop Rylands who seem to going from strength to strength. Thought Jerome and Carroll were our best today

Absolutely second best against a tidy Colne side (although, they didn't create much) until their keeper had a brain fart and got himself sent off.
Completely in control after that, without playing too well. I thought we showed a few glimpses of quality in the second half, but too often let the game slow to walking pace and looked a bit short of ideas. I don't think it helped that Connor Tinnion didn't look fully fit yet - hopefully another week before Warrington will help.
That's probably the best I've seen Reuben Jerome play in a long time and he really deserved a goal for his efforts.

I hadn't know about this rule change.

Mostly already covered as in not a great watch again. I thought we defended well and Colne looked a really good side going forward. Sending off obviously changed the game but it was as blatant a red card as you will ever see.
Felt like we tried to use the ball better than of late but again the execution is sloppy for the most part, and we missed 2 really good chances to make the game more comfortable. Looks like this is our lot for the end of season, work hard and scrape Wins without performing to the best of our abilities, if that gets us out of this league then great but cant expect the crowds to get excited about it. Goals are celebrated as a relief at the moment.
Bootle next, in shocking form but would take a crap performance and 3 points to set us up for Saturday.
