Not to be a pedant but what has this got to do with Reds? you have just dumped a link to a story without comment. Pretty sure anyone who reads Cumbria Crack would have seen this, I just don't understand why it's posted here? especially if you have nothing to even add about it?

It was a fair enquiry, I could have just deleted it as irrelevant content.
This is a Reds Discussion forum. Posting a link that is not Reds related or starting a discussion means it meets neither.
We can set up an RSS feed to post local sports news automatically to a general football forum if that's what is needed. Or just the subforum itself if Cumbria Crack doesnt support RSS.
But previous versions of this forum the general football sub forums were barely used so one wasn't provided when this was set up. But it can be.

Was told that Chris Humphrey was interviewed for the reds job in summer,shame that Penrith have been relegated though always believed that we should look at some kind of link with them as non contract players can switch between the league's. A bigger story from there is that their striker Alfie Brunskill is off to Preston on a month's trial, the type of young lad that Danny Grainger would have looked to bring to the reds

Admin - I see your point. Just a link with no comment can be annoying. However, we are all different, and all have our qualms.
Starboy - that's very honest of you with regard to your reading issues. I don't visit the cumbriacrack site so do find some of these posts interesting. If I had a request, it would be to copy and paste the story aswell rather than posting just the link. We are all here at the end of the day as we have the same common interest - the Reds. Please reconsider and don't leave the forum.

Just to add my 2p worth.
I've enjoyed reading all of the articles which may not be directly related to Reds. Unlike other forums which allow more general footie chat, there is no space on the current forum. This is not a criticism, just an acknowledgement about how things are. Many of these have been posted by Starboy, and even if he has not commented on them himself, they are mostly about local football or about clubs close to Reds in the football pyramid.
What is surprising and a little unedifying is that there have been a host of previous such articles in recent months which have gone unchallenged by admin. These have included
* Staines Town - March * Kendal Town - January - almost identical story to Penrith * Marine Fans - January * Holker Old Boys - January * BBC Radio Cumbria and the 'disappearance' of James Phillips - December 21 * Marine - December 2021 * Macclesfield - November 2021 * Kendal - New Boss - October 2021 * Workington Town - A different sport? - October 2021 * Berwick vs Gretna - September 2021 * Stockport Town - July 2021 * Sutton United - May 2021 * Bury AFC - May 2021
I'm left wondering why admin has not seen fit to comment on any of this stuff, but has jumped in, very late in the day, on this Penrith story. We need our admin to be fair and consistent, which doesn't seem to be the case here, even though admin believes it was a 'fair challenge'. If this is the case, perhaps they can explain why all of the items listed were left unchallenged, but the Penrith article called out so. Starboy has also been publicly called out, for not commenting on his links, although there is no requirement to comment. If admin had felt there was a problem, a better option might have been to contact him directly.
I hope Starboy stays and continues to post stuff which might not be pure Reds stuff. The forum will be all the poorer if he goes. It is not as though we are oversubscribed with members and have lost several regular pundits in the recent past.

I havent got time right now to search for all of those and check them but ive looked at
* Staines Town - March * Kendal Town - January - almost identical story to Penrith * Marine Fans - January * Holker Old Boys - January * Berwick vs Gretna - September 2021 * Bury AFC - May 2021
And in each example either the OP commented something about it (good practice) or it was at least relevent to Reds or teams in reds league. Thats all i was challenging for, if the story posted is in anyway linked to the reds, or if its not maybe express why you think it might be of interest to others. If neither of those this are done i might as well write an RSS macro to automatically post every cumbria crack football story on here.

Hope Starboy doesnt stop posting as an exile Cumbrian its always good to know what happening to Reds close rivals even if technically doesnt impactnon Reds. A lot of Reds players managers have moved over there so there is a loose link there. Imust go and read the article now !
