Our interest in the FA Trophy lasted only one fixture with our last minute defeat to Runcorn Linnets. Bootle maintain their interest given a walkover v Grimsby Borough.
We were Bootle's biggest fans on the final day of last season. We needed them to get a draw at Rylands whilst we bagged a hat full of goals at Market Drayton Town. Our thanks to Bootle who duly obliged with an unexpected 2-2. We all know the rest of the story.
And so with various postponements and rescheduling, we are back in league action with a trip to Bootle, who, like Reds, have had an indifferent start to their campaign.

Last season it took us three attempts to play Bootle. We eventually fulfilled the fixture on 5 April and came away with a 0-4 victory. Having been challenging for play offs, they fell away and that match was their 5th defeat on the bounce.
Having failed to win in their first three matches this season, they have now won 2 on the bounce - make it three if you include the walkover. They will be keen to keep their season going. The table is a bit of a log jam with only 3 points separating 2nd to 16th. Here's hoping we can take the confidence from the 0-3 win at Rams into this match and come away with another three points.
