With Macclesfield retaining an interest in the FAT, our league match with them last weekend was cancelled. As such, it will be two weeks between fixtures for the Reds. Last time out we hosted one of last season's fellow play off teams - Leek Town. Next up are Runcorn Linnets who also were involved in last season's play offs.
Leek came to Borough Park in 2nd place, and now Runcorn visit, themselves currently in 2nd place. Runcorn were at Borough Park on 13 Sept where they scored a late winner in the FAT.
Reds are 7th with 14 points from 9 games
Runcorn are 2nd with 17 points from 9 games
Reds at home 2-1-2
Runcorn away 2-0-2
Recent Runcorn results:
11 Oct Newcastle Town 0-2 Runcorn
8 Oct Runcorn 2-1 Ossett Utd (FAT3QR)
1 Oct Runcorn 2-0 Colne
27 Sept Runcorn 1-1 Bootle
24 Sept North Shields 1-2 Runcorn (FAT2QR)
13 Sept Reds 1-2 Runcorn (FAT1QR)
6 Sept Skem 1-4 Runcorn
3 Sept Marske Utd 2-1 Runcorn (FAC1QR)
29 Aug Runcorn 1-0 Witton Albion
27 Aug Prescot 1-0 Runcorn
23 Aug Runcorn 0-0 Hanley
20 Aug Trafford 1-2 Runcorn (FACPR)
16 Aug Mossley 1-0 Runcorn
13 Aug Runcorn 3-1 Widnes
Reds overall 5-2-5
Runcorn overall 9-2-3
Runcorn arrive with 3 wins on the bounce, undefeated in 7, and undefeated in the league since the loss at Prescot on 27 August. They have a welcome home draw v Belper Town in FAT1R on 29 October.
Reds are undefeated in their previous 4 outings, and this is the 3rd consecutive fixture at home in the league. Only 3 points separates 2nd to 10th, with Reds one of six teams sitting on 14 points. Even at this early stage of the season, it seems as though winning is vital to stay in touch with the leading pack. Runcorn took the late chocolates a few weeks ago, here's hoping Reds can take the points from this one. Come on you Reds.
