After the luxury of three consecutive home games, Reds hit the road for the first time since 17 September when we brought 3 points back from Bootle. This trip takes us to a new NPLW team - Hanley Town in Stoke. Hanley joined NPLW after winning promotion from Midland Football League Premier Division last season. They finished the season as champions by 9 points with 83 points from 36 games. This season they have a decent away record but are struggling at home.
Hanley are 18th with 10 points from 9 games Reds are 7th with 17 points from 10 games
Hanley at home 0-0-4 Reds away 2-1-1
Recent Hanley results: 15 Oct Leek 4-1 Hanley 8 Oct Hanley 0-2 Widnes 4 Oct Haney 0-4 Chester (FAC3QRr) 1 Oct Chester 0-0 Hanley (FAC3QR) 27 Sep Glossop NE 2-4 Hanley 24 Sep Hanley 2-3 City of Liverpool 17 Sep Hanley 4-1 Atherstone Town (FAC2QR) 13 Sep Carlton Town 2-0 Hanley (FAT1QR) 6 Sep Hanley 2-1 Stourbridge (FAC1QRr) 2 Sep Stourbridge 2-2 Hanley (FAC1QR)
Hanley overall since 1 Sept 3-2-6 Reds overall since 1 Sept 4-1-2
Hanley have lost every league game at home so far, although they have won three cup games at home. Hanley are winless in their last 4 matches.
Reds meanwhile are undefeated in their last 4 games. One point separates 2nd to 8th. On paper this looks like an easier away fixture, but I'm not sure they exist anymore given the scars from Market Drayton Town.
Come on you Reds.

In my opinion jordan palmer deserves a run in the team, i would have a front 3 of palmer, jerome and symington. It would be a shame if we lose him because he doesn't get the game time he needs.

Definitely agree. He has saved our bacon in two games and deserves a start. I would be inclined to put the two unavailable players from last week on the bench. Players who commit themselves 100% must be put first.

Three points in the bag if not the most convincing of performances. However will be good to hear honest assessment from the travelling support.

Agree with this sometimes watching the live scoreboard people expect too much but there are no easy games in this division and we will have to fight for every point, good 3 points let's get a good crowd now for next Saturday

Done enough, decent all round team performance….didn’t start well though, great 15 minutes back end of first half. Of note 3 quality strikes from Dav, 2 found the net one off the post… Goose commanding at the back of note. Their 7 was sharp and caused us a few issues.. 2nd half not a classic dropped a little deep for my liking but credit to the players - saw the game out without too much trouble. Not a great game, result about right. Glimpses of quality and solid enough. Pitch not great for passing, although flat, plenty of grass to slow the ball down. How depressing is that ground? Drained the life out of the fans…. Well done reds and the fantastic travelling support….

Wasn't a great performance but done enough. Two trademark Dav goals and unlucky with the fk aswell. Thought they were pretty average tbh but we're building momentum big game now at home sat followed by a huge match at Macclesfield.
It is depressing going to these tiny grounds with poor crowds but they were a friendly club and although ground basic was well maintained.
