I am sure there must be a good reason for it and someone will be able to enlighten me, but Reds are without a fixture this weekend. Seems bewildering on the face of it, but perhaps we already played the original fixture - assuming there was one?
Perhaps just as bizarre is the fact we will not move from 3rd position without playing, despite those around us in competition for points and jostling for positions.
Anyway, to avoid a Saturday of endless thumb twiddling, here are are few facts and figures for our play off competitors who are playing this weekend.
Current positions: 1st Macclesfield Played 23 points 55 2nd Leek Town played 23 points 50 3rd Reds played 22 points 44 4th Runcorn played 23 points 39 5th Mossley played 22 points 39
Newcastle v Macclesfield. Newcastle are 12th with a home record of 2-5-5 Leek v Mossley. Leek at home 8-2-2, Mossley away 5-3-4 Bootle v Runcorn. Bootle are 10th with a home record of 5-2-5
Mossley currently have a 7 point cushion above Prescot Cables in 6th. Clitheroe (7th) and Kidsgrove (8th) both trail Prescot by a further point but have a game in hand.
Reds face a tricky trip to Mossley on Tuesday 24 Jan in a rearranged fixture after the 17 December postponement.
