What a great day it was too I was stood at the Town End and dreaming at half time when a goal up until Dennis Viollet often the unsung hero in Uniteds side came and spolit it. But indeed the memories live on.
In those days Football finance meant clubs were on a fairly even keel compared to today where Money speaks and little clubs can never ever compete on a week in week out basis with the Middle East/USA money.
That is the real magic of the F A Cup long may it last

A wonderful day - but a memory still tinged with sadness as Munich came so soon afterwards. I stood at the river end and it was a privilege to see such great players grace Borough Park. No question then of putting out a team of second-stringers. It was the Busby Babes at full strength - and you can't help but wonder what they would have gone on to achieve without the tragedy of Munich.
