Apparently the snow was to blame for last weekend's postponement at Colne. Should have played the match here in Perth, WA - 30C It will likely now become a midweek trip. Interestingly, our final game of the league season is home to Colne. I suppose there was not enough time to switch the fixtures? Would have been handy though. We move on though, with another away trip. This time to City of Liverpool.
City of Liverpool are 14th with 37 points from 31 games
Reds are 3rd with 60 points from 30 games
City of Liverpool at home 7-2-6
Reds away 10-2-2
Recent City of Liverpool results:
10 March Widnes 3-0 City of Liverpool
4 March Leek 4-1 City of Liverpool
25 Feb City of Liverpool 2-0 Clitheroe
18 Feb Kidsgrove 2-0 City of Liverpool
11 Feb City of Liverpool 1-0 Hanley
7 Feb City of Liverpool 1-0 Colne
28 Jan City of Liverpool 2-1 Rams
14 Jan City of Liverpool 1-2 1874 Northwich
10 Jan City of Liverpool 0-3 Glossop NE
7 Jan Skem 2-4 City of Liverpool
2 Jan City of Liverpool 1-1 Bootle
City of Liverpool overall since 1 Jan 5-1-5
Reds overall since 1 Jan 10-2-2
Despite playing less games away from home, Reds have won more points on the road than at home (28/32). City of Liverpool, after some home defeats in January are now on a run of 4 home victories on the bounce. However, they have lost their two most recent matches - both away. They are only 7 points clear of a relegation place, so still need to collect more. They came to Borough Park at the end of October and held Reds to a 0-0 draw. As with the trip to Colne, this could be a tricky away outing, but Reds do boast the 3rd best away record in the league behind the top two teams.
Other top of the table fixtures:
Macclesfield (1st) v Runcorn (4th)
Leek (2nd) don't have a fixture but travel to Widnes midweek as the sole midweek fixture.
Clitheroe (5th) v Prescot
With Leek not playing, Reds can go level on points with them, although we lag Goal Difference by 7. Another ten points from the remaining 8 fixtures will secure a play off berth.
Come on you Reds
