A man sent off. Penalty conceded. 1-0 down just before half time. No problem. Mighty Reds can score three times with only ten men. The doom and gloom from Widnes is forgotten. Two terrific victories, and dare I say it, our future is on our own hands. Win the next four fixtures and we will be promoted. We all know that is a little trickier on the field than it is for me to type, but none the less, it is a fact. Throw in a Leek wobble - great timing - and we find ourselves sitting in second position. Let's hope our own wobbles are over and done with and we can go on an undefeated run through to the end of the season. Our final away game of the season takes us into Cheshire and to 1874 Northwich. They are not quite safe from relegation yet, although unlikely, but as such, they still have something to play for.
1874 Northwich are 15th with 42 points from 36 games
Reds are 2nd with 72 points from 36 games
1874 Northwich at home 6-6-6
Reds away 12-2-4
Recent 1874 Northwich results:

8 April 1874 Northwich 1-2 Clitheroe
4 April Rams 2-1 1874 Northwich

25 March 1874 Northwich 0-1 Mossley

11 Feb 1874 Northwich 4-1 Colne
7 Feb 1874 Northwich 2-0 Newcastle Town
4 Feb Skem 0-2 1874 Northwich
1874 Northwich overall since 1 Feb 4-2-7
Reds overall since 1 Feb 9-1-4
Back in February and things were going well for 1874 Northwich. 3 victories on the bounce. A scoreless draw v the pending champions may have seemed a decent result at the time. A win to follow at Glossop NE, then the wheels came off and hurtled down the hill. They have lost all five subsequent fixtures and now find themselves in need of points to stay in the league.
Reds are holding off Leek for second place:
Reds 72pts GD 29 Scored 64
Leek 70pts GD 29 Scored 66
Remaining fixtures are:
Reds - Witton(h 5-0) Kidsgrove(a 1-3) Northwich(a 4-3) Colne(h)
Leek - Rams(a 2-3) Newcastle(h 0-1) Colne(a 0-1) Skem(h)
Our play off opponents will come from Clitheroe, Runcorn, Witton and Mossley who are competing for 4th and 5th.
Remaining fixtures for those teams are:
Clitheroe - Colne(h 4-1) Glossop NE(a) Kidsgrove(h)
Runcorn - City of Liverpool(a 1-1) Rams(h) Trafford(a)
Witton - 1874 Northwich(h 1-0) Hanley(a) City of Liverpool(h)
Mossley - Glossop NE(h 3-0) City of Liverpool(a) Macclesfield(h)
Turns out Colne who currently sit in the relegation play offs, could have quite an influence on final positions. They lost at Clitheroe on Easter Monday, host Leek today and finish up at Borough Park on the final day.
Momentum is on our side at the right time. Keep it flowing Reds.
Come on you Reds
