One thing I forgot to mention is Reds 2nd keeper Eccles. Another very good performance and earned his clean sheet with some very good blocks. I think he'd get in most other teams as No1. Not sure what he does when not in the squad but also credit for sticking with reds despite not featuring a lot.
I've heard a rumour a side in Scotland wants Jim next season and from what I've seen of Eccles, I would have no issue starting the season with him as our No 1.

Thought reds did well today with what was out there and was glad to see Danny rest so many. Clitheroe did the same though so will be just as fresh as us. Only real bad thing was the injury to Sam. Looked like a pulled groin to me so good chance he won't feature in the playoffs. I think Clitheroe is the toughest draw we could have got, but we would have to beat them at some point to go up anyways if so. Huge game Tuesday, let's hope we play like we know we can and get through. No ET please and we certainly don't want penalties! Linnets GK was sent off today for handball. Just curious as to when that ban would commence? Next season? Tuesday? The final should they make it? It will be 7 days after the dismissal so he would miss the final should they get there. Though according to Runcorn's Twitter feed he will miss Tuesday's game - must be different rules surrounding the play offs? |
