Goals, goals, goals. Goals, goals, goals.... A terrific FAC victory v Prestwich last weekend. In seven competitive matches so far this season, four have featured 5 or more goals. Reds have been involved in 26 goals in the league. Unfortunately, goal difference is not in our favour at 9-17. Hopefully that can be rectified somewhat with a visit from bottom club Basford United who have lost each of their three away fixtures so far.
Basford are new to this league having transferred from the NPL Premier Division Central (same as Ilkeston did) at the end of last season. They finished 15th of 22 teams
Reds are 18th with 6 points from 6 games Basford are 22nd with 2 points from 6 games
Reds at home 2-0-1 Basford away 0-0-3
Basford results so far: 2 Sept Alvechurch 1-0 Basford (FAC1QR) 28 Aug Marine 2-0 Basford 26 Aug Basford 1-1 Atherton Collieries 22 Aug Basford 1-2 Stafford Rangers 19 Aug Guiseley 2-1 Basford 15 Aug Ashton Utd 1-0 Basford 12 Aug Basford 2-2 Morpeth
Basford's away record so far is poor. Lost all three in the league, and their FAC trip to Alvechurch. They have only managed one goal so far on the road.
Reds' having bagged 6 v Prestwich in the FAC last week will hopefully be full of confidence and can score a few more against Basford, ensuring a needed 3 points.
Come on you Reds

Looks a big one this. Must win IMO. A win here could see us kick on and get a few more results to steer us comfortably away from the bottom 4. Let's get behind the lads, hopefully another decent crowd but some big events on around the county this weekend. COYR!!

A great result and performance today, with both teams contributing to a really entertaining game. It has been said before, but this level has really kicked on. Great performances all over the team, our new signing hit the ground running and looks like someone with a future in the game. Kofi doesn’t do tap ins does he? Rigby really put a shift in today and ran himself ragged for the team. The crowds are holding up ok, but that level of entertainment deserves a four figure crowd.

Agree with all that, this division has improved so much in the last few seasons and every point we gain needs to be ground out, cant fault the entertainment value either just need a big marketing push before next home game to drag those floating fans back. Hopefully Reilly has good news on his suspected broken ankle but again agree Rigg played well, definitely better there than in midfield, nice to see a bit of pace up front as well Kofi Moore looked unplayable against the tiring defence

DG didn't sound too optimistic about Reillys injury, just hope its better news because the lad seems thwarted at Reds and he is a proven goalscorer which we need

Lots of positives to take from yesterday. Agree Riggy put a great shift in and his hold up game was superb. Still needs to be more clinical in front of goal but maybe that's why he is where he is. 2nd half defensively we were poor at best again, but thankfully our forwards pulled us out of the s***. Still 1 or 2 players short depending on Reilly and the young lad from Blackpools injuries but I'm with Danny in that it has to be the right players that come in. Id like to see a LB in to push our current 2. Feel like a lot of our defensive troubles stem from that side
No pressure on us Friday, free pop at a side a division above. Tough draw but they are in poor form. COYR!!

Thought Dav added work rate to his goal scoring ability today.
Sometimes lacking in his game.
