Our brief interest in the FAC was extinguished at Darlington last weekend and we refocus back on the more important league. Next up is a trip to Bradford Park Avenue.
Last season we were two leagues adrift of Bradford PA who were plying their trade in National League North. A poor season however saw them finish 23 of 24 and subsequent relegation to NPL Premier. Both teams have had indifferent starts to the campaign and find themselves next to each other in the table.
Bradford PA are 16th with 8 points from 7 games Reds are 15th with 9 points from 7 games
Bradford PA at home 2-0-1 Reds away 0-0-3
Recent Bradford PA results: 18 Sept Bradford PA 1-1 Blyth Spartans (1-3AET FAC2QRr) 16 Sept Blyth Spartans 1-1 Bradford PA (FAC2QR) 9 Sept FC United of Manchester 2-0 Bradford PA 2 Sept Consett 0-2 Bradford PA (FAC1QR) 28 Aug Guiseley 2-2 Bradford PA 26 Aug Bradford PA 4-1 Ilkeston 21 Aug Bradford PA 2-0 Morpeth 19 Aug Bamber Bridge 1-1 Bradford PA 15 Aug Atherton Collieries 2-0 Bradford PA 12 Aug Bradford PA 0-2 Macclesfield
Bradford PA overall this season 3-3-3 Reds overall this season 4-0-6
Reds are still searching for a first away point in this league. We also have the second worst defence in the league, conceding 20 so far. Only Marske in 21st have conceded more at 24. However at 14 goals scored, we are 6th highest scorers. The combined goals column of 34 - 14GF and 20GA equates to the highest number of goals involved for any team in the league so far.
Given that Bradford PA are in the bottom half with us, this would be a good game to collect at least a point from.
Come on you Reds

Down side is that they beat Ilkeston and Morpeth and drew with Bamber Bridge while we were comprehensively beaten by all three. The upside is that they only fielded 4 subs in their FA Cup relay on Monday when they could have had six. They also had to play an extra half an hour. Could be a good time for us to meet them.

Much deserved win. Could and should have scored lot more but in usual Reds fashion gave them a chance at end to make a nervous finish. All team played well and on a 4g too! Rigg my MoM excellent throughout until ran out of steam . Hopefully take this form into Tuesday and give Lancaster and all those ex Reds a tough game. Lads should be up for that one!

I have got to say that Steve Durham's after-match interviews with Danny are spot on. Loads of info, which is brilliant in keeping fans informed. Injury updates are very important to the living-far-away fans, so Saturday's interview was ideal. I'm optimistic about Lancaster . . . which, I know, as a life-long Reds fan, is a recipe for disaster . . .

Well done Reds on your first away win - had enough chances to win 3 games (not a negative comment).

Sounds like a well deserved win on Saturday . Despite the injuries we have proved that we can hold our own against most teams in this league. Danny's post match interview was excellent and we re so very lucky to have him as he is an excellent manager. So good luck against Lancaster Reds. coyr
