Usually a 5-0 midweek victory would act as a good fillip for the next match. In this case, it seems the midweek team didn't include any first teamers though, so that doesn't really apply. Regardless, always good to have a win on the board again.
Finally, after a hiatus of 18 days, Reds are back in league action. It has been a long wait since the disappointing 3-0 defeat at Marske Utd on 24 October. Reds went into the Marske fixture in 10th but have dropped to 14th given the lack of action, and other teams picking up points during this period.
Guiseley are in 7th with a decent home record, so this could be another difficult trip east.
Guiseley are 7th with 23 points from 14 games
Reds are 14th with 19 points from 14 games
Guiseley at home 4-1-2
Reds away 1-1-5
Recent Guiseley results:
4 Nov Rylands 0-1 Guiseley
31 Oct Worksop 1-1 Guiseley
28 Oct Walsall Wood 1-1 Guiseley (FAT1R) (6-5 pens)
24 Oct Guiseley 4-2 Marine
14 Oct Guiseley 2-0 Stafford
10 Oct Guiseley 3-2 Atherton Collieries
7 Oct Gainsborough Trinity 1-3 Guiseley (FAT3QR)
3 Oct Guiseley 10-1 Ilkley Town (West Riding Cup 1R)
26 Sept Morpeth 1-1 Guiseley
23 Sept Guiseley 0-1 Ashton Utd
9 Sept Bamber Bridge 0-2 Guiseley
5 Sept Marine 3-0 Guiseley (FAC1QRr)
2 Sept Guiseley 0-0 Marine (FAC1QR)
Guiseley overall since 1 Sept 7-4-2
Reds overall since 1 Sept 7-1-5
Guiseley haven't lost a league game since 23 Sept. That was ten fixtures ago. Reds most recent league victory was on 30 Sept 2-1 over FCUM. That was eight games ago. With Guiseley in good form, and Reds without a fixture in some time, this looks like a tough trip on paper. Hopefully we can collect at least a point to add to the tally.
Come on you Reds
