Hear ye! Hear ye! Get the flags out...... NPL football is returning to Borough Park for the fist time since 21 October! In what can only be described as a monumental fixture quirk, Reds have been on the road for five consecutive away fixtures but finally return to Borough Park. Hyde Utd are the first visitors of three consecutive home fixtures.
After suffering defeats at Marske Utd and Guiseley, Reds are undefeated in the last three away fixtures. Two draws and a victory, and a tally of eleven goals scored on the road can hopefully set up for some home victories in December.
Reds are 14th with 24 points from 18 games
Hyde Utd are 5th with 32 points from 19 games
Reds at home 5-0-2
Hyde Utd away 4-0-5
Recent Hyde Utd results:
28 Nov Hyde Utd 2-2 Gainsborough
25 Nov Hyde Utd 2-1 Morpeth
14 Nov Matlock 3-2 Hyde Utd
11 Nov Hyde Utd 3-0 Marske
7 Nov Hyde Utd 1-2 Whitby Town
4 Nov FCUM 0-2 Hyde Utd
28 Oct Nuneaton Borough 2-0 Hyde Utd (FAT1R)
24 Oct Hyde Utd 2-0 Ilkeston
21 Oct Rylands 1-0 Hyde Utd
14 Oct Bradford PA 0-3 Hyde Utd
11 Oct Avro 2-0 Hyde Utd (Manchester PC1R)
7 Oct Reds 1-3 Hyde Utd (FAT3QR)
3 Oct Atherton 1-2 Hyde Utd
Reds overall since 1 Oct 3-3-5
Hyde Utd overall since 1 Oct 7-1-5
Reds are yet to draw at home. Hyde are yet to draw away. Hyde's draw v Gainsborough midweek was their first draw since the opening day of the season. A run of 21 matches.
Hyde have lost 3 of their last 4 matches on the road. They have however, been to Borough Park already this season and scored a 1-3 victory in the FAT3QR match on 7 October.
Although Reds have the third worst defence in the league (41), to Marske (46) & Atherton (45), they have improved their Goal Difference over recent matches and now sit at -6.
Reds are 8 points adrift of a play off place - which Hyde currently occupy, but are now 10 points clear of relegation.
Reds know how to score but Hyde have a good defensive record (conceded 23). Hyde 4-0-5 on the road suggests they are indifferent when travelling. Reds will be buoyed with recent results. Could this be a victorious return to Borough Park after a six week tour?
Come on you Reds.
