Well one thing for sure DerwentEnder will be happy!
Will he now step in and do all the jobs on match days that the Chairman did ; sell tickets, make tea and coffee, work in the kitchen, look after the sponsors etc, etc etc!!
I very much doubt it.

I doubt it too since DE will not be chairman with all the responsibilities that position brings. John has done a great job in his time of tenure and he will be missed, but just because DE doesn't get on with him I don't see the need to criticise a loyal supporter who rarely misses a game home or away.

They'll both be missed. Enjoy 'retirement'! A few weeks ago, robbrown asked how much it would cost to sort out the stadium. Could the two be related? I wish I had that sort of money if that's what you are suggesting. Any relation would be entirely coincidental. I asked because I was genuinely interested, trying to work out how viable it is financially for the town as a whole. I am still interested in that to be honest. Someone generous with very deep pockets would essentially solve the sports issues in Workington and West Cumbria as a whole to be honest. But I live in dreamland. A lot has gone on this season both good and bad. Safety certificate, racism accusations, team being successful in the league, commercial director leaving, groundsman leaving all adds up to a lot of hassle I imagine. Like others on this thread my question is why have both gone at the same time and why has it happened so suddenly.

I have nothing but respect for the outgoing Chairman and Deputy Chairman. Under their astute and responsible management the Club is in a much stronger position than in previous years. Without doubt the decision to develop the Club with the aim of creating a community, family club has improved our future prospects, and the reputation of the Reds. If I have any criticism, and it's only minor, it's that there have been occasions when the Directors could have shown greater trust in the fans by being less protective with information that could have been freely shared more widely. I hope that whoever takes over from John takes the opportunity to review this aspect of the Club's governorship. Sadly, in the absence of any firm information people will inevitably either assume the worse or take the opportunity to be malicious by elaboration, fabrication or misinterpretation. In doing so creating a wrong or inaccurate version of events but one that meets their own purpose. With this fear in mind, I would hope that whoever is currently in charge of running the Club, whoever is responsible for the stewardship of the Club act quickly to kill any rumours that the resignation of the Chairman and deputy are for reasons that can potentially affect the good reputation, credibility or sound governance of our Club. The opening post asks "what's going on at Borough Park" - the right thing for everyone would be for the Club to provide a clear, unambiguous and honest answer to what is not an unreasonable question. If the answer is there is nothing wrong or to be concerned about then why not 'put the matter to bed' by issuing an immediate statement saying so.

Yesterday's result is a fitting tribute to the contributions of John and Ross. I hope we will continue to see them on the terraces. And there is a vacancy for programme seller John! LOL
The continuing lock down on information from Borough Park is worrying. We all hope it is a peaceful handover of power. Yet that would usually mean an announcement of the amicably agreed new arrangements at the same time as the resignations, surely?
I agree with what others have said; out of respect for the fans there must be an announcement about the new Board tomorrow.

New board members can't be announced until the the club goes through due process. As a limited company there is a legal process to follow with regard to appointing directors. In most circumstances, a proposal for a new director would be a matter for discussion between the shareholders and directors at leisure and not something for an immediate decision. Every shareholder should be aware of this. The process for appointing new directors is usually recorded in the company's articles of association. The company must notify Companies House within 14 days after a new director is appointed. Also, the appointments have to be approved by the FA. The appointments, when made, will only be temporary until approved at AGM/EGM. It would be unlikely that there will be an announcement "tomorrow".

I'm amazed there is no more information available, especially after Saturday's local derby. Surely there must have been some 'terrace talk'. "Resigning with immediate effect" means "not happy with what is coming up in the future" or "what has gone on in the past". I would say it has to be the former. Is there a takeover in process?

So am I, but I did hear on the terraces at the Kendal game on Saturday that a new board of directors will be sworn in, in the coming weeks to take the club forward.
