Official Bootle FC @bootle_FC · 8m Unfortunately tonight’s game is postponed.
We have just found some damage to the hybrid pitch as we began setting up for tonight’s game. The pitch is therefore unplayable, sorry for the late notification.
We hope to have the pitch repaired over the next couple of days.

absolutely no consideration for players taking time off work or supporters travelling distances. Tell me why the pitch could not have been repaired ! How big was the damage that meant a postponement again.

What a tinpot Mickey Mouse club! Following their tweets earlier in the day advertising the game and the weather being fine, I drove to Liverpool arriving at around 5.30. Therefore I was en route when their unacceptably late notification was posted on Social Media. It was only when, after an hour, the place was still in darkness I looked at Twitter. They didn’t even have the consideration to put a notice at the entrance that the game was off. They had been whining about having players missing on their SM pages (for those of you who like conspiracy theories) 😀 and it stretches credibility that this “damage to the pitch” was only discovered in the late afternoon. Nobody at the ground during the day then? Especially as the pitch is dodgy and there’s been a lot of wet weather recently? Either way it is completely unacceptable and the lack of communication and consideration for travelling spectators is staggering. I’m sending a complaint to the league, not that I expect that the useless pen pushers there will take any action. Unfortunately it is this sort of incident that makes non league football a cause for ridicule by those who only watch top level football. Perhaps clubs like Bootle might reflect on the damage this does to the image to the non league game and the message it sends out to the wider footballing public.

they never posted a single photo of this damage on there social media pages. yet when the game was called off for a waterlogged pitch there was a photo of the standing water, the camera phones must have been damaged as well.

I hope Reds have formally complained to the NPL and Bootle face a significant fine for failing to fulfil the fixture - maybe even a points deduction would focus their minds in future

Interesting rumour circulating about one of their players being unable to return from a skiing holiday in time for the game. Coincidence?
