Saw this in the Article on Cumbria Crack. Slightly concerns me that we might end up with a 1 sided ground if later phases are not delivered. Would feel more comforatble if one standing terrace was also in Phase 1.
Obviously it would be good if the existing terracing could be retained on the sides that the grandstand is not on but i think i recall the new stadium would actually be re-orientated. (which makes sense really since the Grandstand side at the moment is a bit hemmed in by the retaining wall.) And basically the existing ground completely demolished?
Would hope at least that the Pitch, main stand and at least flat standing is built all around initially so at least you dont end up like at Widnes everyone sat in the same section of the main stand.

Sounds promising for a start, quick scan at the meeting notes and dont think they are realigning the pitch anymore

Sounds promising for a start, quick scan at the meeting notes and dont think they are realigning the pitch anymore Interesting. At this stage New pitch, Grandstand and Barriers on the Derwent end might be enough for a start, would certainly get the capacity up. But the problem with the existing terrace is the accessibility is very poor, and all of the structures around the ground really need removed to reduce the maintenance costs which is part of the business case. Though you'd have to assume that what ever was built after the grandstand wouldnt be as expensive as the £6.5 million for the first phase so there would be less of a chance of the rest of it being canned. Just hope what ever is built doesnt suddenly become susceptible to flooding from the river.

A bit green on the situ myself…Given current the current global economic situation, I’d bite their hand off….I really thought the whole thing would end up mothballed… This is a start. It’s a main stand and associated facilities that’s really needed. What we seem to be getting. I just hope it’s worthy! Any plans due to be released? I like our terracing, although from an engineering perspective it’s usually what’s underneath that drains the cash….would we have cash available after the stand and pitch to spruce it up? Guess it’s then down to Town and Reds to make a success of it to access further investment…would anything be due on the sale of derwent park? I can truly understand the frustration of Town fans giving up their place if the alternative is poor…

Still waiting for official updates on plans but a few interesting spectators down yesterday most notably MP Jenkinson, never shown any interest before so surprised to see him ,maybe he can take note of the need for updated facilities and the role that the club has in the area. Also good to see former chairman Dale Brotherton back down at the ground

Wonder what the fat Tory MP was doing at Borough Park? All Tories should be banned from our ground me thinks.

Didnt get along to presentation due to work but heard it was a promising start, was surprised and pleased to see the people that are involved to start with ,the 2 from outside the area seem to have a wide and varied expertise, hopefully be able to bring in the funding required
