Another game. Another defeat. The midweek home defeat to Bamber Bridge makes it five games now without a win for Reds. And another first - first home defeat of the season. The good news is that the next visitors, Whitby Town only have one point more than Reds. The bad news is that they have only lost one game. The worse news is they scored six at Hebburn in midweek. Reds are 18th with 9 points from 10 games Whitby are 14th with 10 points from 10 games Reds at home 1-3-1 Whitby away 3-0-2 Recent Whitby results: 17 Sept Hebburn 2-6 Whitby 14 Sept Whitby 1-2 Ashton Utd 10 Sept Whitby 1-2 Guiseley 7 Sept Ikeston 5-1 Whitby 3 Sept Whitby 3-3 Mossley (FAC1QRr) (3-5 pens) 31 Aug Mossley 2-2 Whitby 26 Aug Stockton 2-0 Whitby 24 Aug Whitby 2-3 Macclesfield 20 Aug Whitby 0-0 FCUM 17 Aug Rylands 0-1 Whitby 13 Aug Matlock 0-2 Whitby 10 Aug Whitby 1-2 Bamber Bridge Whitby's hefty win at high flying Hebburn was their first victory in ten games. And they did it in style. Last season Whitby came to Borough Park on 27 January and the match finished 0-0. With only 2 wins from 10 games, Reds find themselves being sucked down into the relegation zone. The next game at Stockton on 28 September has been postponed due to Stockton's FAC3QR match v Chester. Failure to defeat Whitby could see a further slip down the table and no game to play for two weeks. Goes without saying that Reds need to turn things around - and sooner rather than later. We do not want this season to become a relegation battle. Come on you Reds PS - hoping that Pacific Ocean wifi is working well as October's previews will be posted from Crown Princess.

Well it was my first match this season....don't know what all the negativity is about! I'll have to make sure I get to all the Lancashire matches from now on and back up to Workington a bit more. Impressed with the work ethic (though we did switch off for their goal) and individually had some excellent performances I thought the ground was looking very good with obvious efforts to tidy up some areas.

Suppose it’ll be very quiet on here today because we’ve played well and won convincingly. The doomers will be gutted there’s nothing to complain about
Quality peformance across the park and better than anything we seen during Dannys last 6months in charge

What a difference a few days makes.
4 at the back; even if they were all CB’s and Dav back out wide made all the difference. Probably the best performance I've seen since MF took over. How much of that is down to the coaching team Vs player ability we’ll find out in due course but it was far more pleasing on the eye.
It’s just a shame it’s taken 20 odd games and all the negativity to get to this point.
The second half against Bamber Bridge may end up being the turning point if the 3-5-3 is consigned to the history books.

Was worried after Tuesday night’s nightmare performance but nobody can have complaints about today , let’s hope that we can build from a tremendous result

Much much better today. Deserved the win and should really have been more. They did miss two sitters though so not quite perfect but it will certainly do. Had some big players missing too in Kai,Allen,Casson,Fitzpatrick. Rigg makes such a difference to us playing up top. Hard to believe we wasted him as a CM and even CB for so long!
Never heard a Ref threaten to Abandon a match due to foul language before. Anyone know what went on?

After recent games, we desperately needed a win and I am delighted that we got one.
The criticism of recent weeks has been fully justified, we have played virtually no football and used a formation that was allowing us to be totally overrun in the middle of the pitch.
You can give the manager credit for changing it, or you can point out that all the people who were questioning the tactical decisions of recent games have just been proved right. We looked so much better playing a 4-3-3 that frankly it was ridiculous.
There were a number of positives. Steven Rigg led the line fantastically once again, David Norris looked a smart acquisition (belying his advancing years), Dav looked a bit more like the player we know he is and there were whole hearted performances from the likes of Jordan Little.
I would add a word of caution though about the back line, who got lucky on a few occasions and were generally ponderous. If we come up against a lively opposition, it could get very messy very quickly.
That is for another day. As Reds fans we should celebrate the win, but please let’s not think that all of our problems are behind us. Our priority this year is retaining our NPL premier status, we will need to battle for everything.

Miles better today, simple change of shape and we look a different side!
Created alot more chances in that game that we have all season.
Thought the whole team was excellent in their efforts and hard to pick a MOM.
We will play alot better teams than whitby, but nobody can fault anyone of lads tonight.
Looks like a few week break now which is a shame.

At last something to cheer 👏👏. A well deserved win & a lot more positves. Lets hope we can put our very indifferent form & the 3/5/2 formation to bed. Well done Reds, play offs here we come !!

Great result taking the pressure off but what is needed now is consistency in the weeks ahead which in turn will breed confidence.
Professional sport in West Cumbria has struggled so come on Reds keep putting a smile on supporters faces and lets get back to four figure gates.

A different ball game compared to the Bamber Bridge match on Tuesday night.
We were more coherent as a football side, every man knew his job from back to front and were more productive all because of a change of formation, which produced an exciting match.
The 3-5-2 system needs to be consigned to the dustbin, never more to be seen at Borough Park.
